THE CHALLENGES

The client came to SV SBDC seeking help getting funding and creating a financially viable business in the space industry.

“Starting a business is daunting, and starting a business with a strong foundation is even harder. Shawn Flynn helped us break down the steps of what needed to be done beyond the engineering component of our business. One area he really emphasized product-market fit and customer discovery. He pushed us to dig into this process, which turned up a valuable steppingstone product for our business that makes it more financially feasible and technically viable, which we wouldn’t have otherwise found. He went above and beyond to help us with networking and assisted us outside of our meetings.
We also appreciated the advice we received about SBIRs from Charles Eason. His help with proposal preparation was immensely useful for learning how to craft a proposal which would balance the line of ambitious enough to be accepted, yet feasible enough to be achievable. Without his help, our NSF proposal would have been far weaker.” – Lee and Lauren Wilson

THE RESULTS

Radiant Space Systems received Phase I SBIR from the National Science Foundation for $275k.

CLIENT’S TESTIMONIAL

“We are so grateful to have the opportunity to work with SBDC and their excellent advisors. We would not be as successful without the personalized advice provided by SBDC and their team of advisors. Overall, both Shawn and Chuck have been integral to our success thus far—Shawn has helped us create a strong foundation for our business and Chuck has provided advice on proposal writing/SBIRs.
I have been referring all my friends who want to start a business to their local SBDC.”
